The iPhone restoration process of downloading songs, photos, apps had stalled. Putting it in my beer freezer (temp controlled to 33F) has greatly helped. We’re still in a day when “put it in the freezer” actually helps things move faster.

On one hand, iPhone to iPhone transfer is nicer than iCloud because everything gets moved over BUT With a 1TB iPhone with 800GB of data, this “time remaining 8 hours" is pretty brutal. I should have done iCloud restore then let the iPhone download photos/videos/music overnight. It is moving but …

I'm also thinking of going Hermes for my AWX but we'll have to see what the options are. If Apple introduces a new band connection, my upgrade decision will be put to the test because I have a LOT of bands including a new beautiful yellow Hermes band I bought in Paris

Apple Watch Ultra to Ultra 3 --- I think what's most likely to happen in my case is that I purchase an Apple Watch X for daily wear and keep my Ultra for long hiking especially if the AWX is thinner with a similar sized 2 inch screen. The Ultra is amazing and with AWU3 rumors being that the …

Pre-Airpods, I ran Shure or Etymotic earphones that had expandable foam. This was superior because you compress the foam and insert it into your ear. There are aftermarket options for AirPods but I want Apple to offer this in the box or maybe a flanged design for better fitment. They're less …

AirPods Pro 2 - I'm still on the Lightning enabled kit while my wife has the USB-C version. I won't upgrade just for USB-C but as far as improvements, I just want more fit-tips. The S/M/L offered today has fitment issues for me primarily because of a lack of a certain gene. So, I don't …

AirPods Max - My pair are still working although having some issues related to noise cancelling. They're out of warranty but I use them daily and they have developed the well-documented "crackle" when you move your head around in ANC mode. I'm not going to spend $500 just to get …

First day back at work after 12 weeks. I missed a lot.

After being off work for 12 weeks, I’m finally back at it tomorrow. It was a great break. I’m also ready to get back to work.

Hugely productive day. 60,000 mile service on the ram done myself, dirt bike dropped off for a warranty fix on the clutch slave. Haircut, groceries, all laundry, cleaned house, ran with the dog, picked up 7 serialized firearm parts waiting for me while I was away and started cleaning out all of the …

Got back from Paris Thursday at 8pm. Friday at noon I drove 12 hours back to charlotte arriving Saturday at 9am since I slept in the truck. Ran a lot of errands and now soccer.

Back in charlotte. Looks like my soccer team is #1 in the league. I missed 8 games but I have excuses. I was in Alaska, Yukon, arctic circle, glacier, New Hampshire, Quebec, France and Belgium for 3 months.

Made it.

@lakelady I’m so sorry I didn’t reply sooner. 1Password is around $55 a year and for the last few months, I’ve had more technical issues with it asking me to enter a password and not auto-filling or saving new passwords. It’s just causing significant friction which shouldn’t happen on a paid …

This feels like gloating but I still can’t get over it. My baby is 9 months old and flying to Paris with Sky Priority status in the premium cabin. I was born on a dairy farm in Florida and in a single-wide trailer. My family couldn’t afford college for me yet I persevered. We’re not rich but damn, …

Both of our zoning variances were approved by the town tonight so exciting. I can finally change my house from being a 700 square-foot camp built in 1930 to an 1800 square-foot house with a small garage.

Only nine months old and we ate breakfast together just she and I. She had a plain egg and drink from her water glass and we made less of a mess than any other kid in the restaurant. I think she’s ready for Europe.

Hey! Upgraded to Delta Premium Select for our flight to Paris on Wednesday. Going to be much easier to sleep with a baby on me nearly vertical. Stoked.

Did my first 4,000 footer today (Mount Moosilauke). The dog hung with me the whole time.

Today, i started seeing posts in my LinkedIN Feed from people I'm connected with. Which is odd because I don't follow anyone I'm connected with. I have reasons for this that are best for a blog post. LinkedIN appears to be tryin to lift engagement by ignoring my preferences and injecting …

Clothes shopping today.

Walking.

I can’t wait for the next MacOS release so I can say goodbye to 1Password.

@kolin

The plague of “Not Now” being the only alternative across many services continues to piss me off to no end. “Never remind me again” or “No” would suffice. Put not now as the third choice but the answer to “Do you want to buy a Mercedes?” Shouldn’t be YES or NOT NOW it should be NEVER at least in my …
