Nope..Hours of work updating DNS records and waiting for them to propagate only for Apple to tell me this at the very end. So I guess that issue is not resolved yet.
It looks like I still can’t add my old AppleID to iMessage and FaceTime but I may be able to setup custom domain…going through that process now.
I’m guessing that honestly, Apple just flagged that Apple Account previously used by me for Media & Purchases as deprecated and not available for any future use. Everything has migrated over so that’s good. I’m out nothing but would love to claim that address for custom domain.
It’s been a while and still no luck. Please apple, can you release adam@adamchandler.me as an AppleID (Apple Account) so I can add it to my now only Apple Account as both a custom domain and contact option (iMessage and FaceTime)? that’s the final thing I need.
Other than the real killer app for me which is cancelling my $5 a month Office 365 email account for my custom email and moving it over to iCloud+ custom domains, I am fully migrated over. It took a few minutes and appears to have gone okay.No family sharing / subscription issues.
Also, it’s dumb that you have to migrate on iOS and not MacOS. The same panel in MacOS does not offer a migrate option but like usual, MacOS is a second class citizen in Apple’s eyes.
For those considering merging accounts, I’m in a LOT of TestFlight betas and that will not carry over. I have to reach out to every developer to re-invite my now primary email address or send a new invite code:
I finally have one AppleID but the issue I’ve had for a while is I wanted to receive iMessages and Facetime calls to my primary email that was used for purchases but hopefully they fix this:
I’m sitting here kind of hoping Apple can make ANOTHER AppleTV service but this one full of live channels (like YouTube TV). I don’t want to give Google money and would prefer to give it to Apple. Plus, how could would it be to have another AppleTV service we have to figure out how to …
Enjoying the climbing. Have been 3 times this week.
We’ve officially reached a point where both my AirPods Max (lightning) and AirPods Pro 2 (lightning) are making crackling sounds, having short battery life, rebooting (airpods pro reboot like when a car passes in ANC mode) and I’m ready to replace them but really don’t want to …
I’ve been climbing a lot lately.
This is truly shameful behavior, Schlage. I want to unlock my door and I have to pick between Yes and Cancel. This pop up appeared after I clicked “unlock” on my door. I’m writing a letter But damn is this some BS.
Out on the lake today
$9.9936 =$359.64 $99.993=$299.97 Or you can pay $279.00 for 3 years I have learned that Apple will totally sell you another year of AppleCare after 3 years if you choose so you can still extend even with a 3 year plan. My 16” M1 MacBook Pro was $149.99 to add another year.
Wow. So if you click “monthly or annually” it now pops up a box after you click “checkout” given you a 3rd choice of 3 years. Sigh.
Wait. I thought AppleCare was only changing for retail customers but it appears Apple Store online only offers monthly or annual now when just last week you could pay for 3 years
It would appear that we’re almost at the 20th anniversary of Google Maps Launching - maphappenings.com/2025/02/0… wow.
Why I don't have an Electric Truck yet
CEO of Ford, Jim Farley: “The economics are unresolvable,” he told attendees of the earnings call. “These customers have very demanding use cases for an electric vehicle. They tow, they go off-road, they take long road trips. These vehicles have worse aerodynamics and they’re very …
I’m tired boss.
Apple Retail offers only monthly AppleCare plans to customers then proceeds to raise the price of monthly AppleCare+ Subscriptions by 50 cents for all iPhones. That’s $12 more over 2 years or $251.76. It’s $199 if you pay for 2 years for iPhone 16 and $249 for iPhone 16 Pro & Pro …
Propane Furnace went out last night. Not fun but thankfully, it was an $18 part (Flame Sensor Rod) that cracked. It just sends an electrical signal when under load (heat) to the computer that all is okay and it cracked for some reason.
Sigh. Another quantifiable example of why having a kid is life-changing…
It is a little funny that this hotel we stayed boasted their green-initiatives and yet it was -18F outside and they also boasted that their pool was kept at 80 degrees. Like I’m sure heating a pool 100 degrees over ambient temp was not cheap or green.
It seems like the perfect day to visit Costco in Canada. 2 Kilos of ground beer for $9 Canadian. I think that’s around $2 a pound. We spent $300 CAD or $206 USD and stocked up on a few things we needed. Border Patrol said we’re not the only people doing this.
