Went to BestBuy today. Held an IPhone Duo and it was pretty pleasant to play with even though I love my iPad Mini & iPad Pro 13” but enjoyable to just handle and open. Saw a 14” PROLED XDR in person and wow, that is a really special display. colors were outrageous.

Vertical videos on a 30 inch monitor I can deal with. Having YouTube enable captions by default when most videos are captioned by the creators anyway….that really grinds my gears. I don’t want any captions…I’m an adult, I have speakers in my office but two sets of captions? …

I successfully raked up all of the leaves today.
I also had some power loss issues which I think are carbon build up so I roasted the muffler on a bed of charcoal to break up the carbon and soot which I hope has worked since a new muffler is $170. Having a lift is so nice though
Busy weekend. I’ve been restoring my 11 year old Snowblower that I’ve done nothing to except change the oil. I took it apart, sanded, painted, replaced all of the springs, cables, fluids, belts, scraper, skid puck things and more. I’m about 10 hours into it so far.
$8549 is the price of my MacBook Pro’s specifications with a fancy new screen. The non-OLED MacBook pro with the same spec is $8,149.00 So OLED is specifically worth about $400 premium. Not bad but I’m still confused as to why Apple didn’t just upgrade the Macbook Pro to OLED?
I’m firmly in the camp that it’s been 5-6 years since a MacBook Pro redesign and this is just the next generation of industrial design with today’s internals, a platform for what’s next and a new screen technology. A new product family is offensive to every “Pro” …
On the even of this OLED MacBook Pro event, I’m frankly going to be pissed that Apple would dilute the “Pro” name by creating a $tier that sits above it with OLED and a touch screen. PowerBook and MacBook Pro meant no compromises workstations.

Over the last 6 weeks, I replaced every fluid in my RAM Diesel and out of pocket it was about $750 in consumables. That same service at the dealer would exceeded $3500.
So far this year, I’ve paid off 3 vehicles. I still have one to go but having 6 of our 7 vehicles paid off feels really great. I am spending a bit more money now on maintenance but having the garage makes that much cheaper.

The upgrade to WiFi 7 has been pretty amazing. Getting 100 megabytes per second upload to my Synology over wireless. It’s twice that speed when I’m using the 10GB wired connection via CalDigit TS5 Plus
Pre-Ordered an Apple HomeView (although I have gripes so I’m considering it an at home trial) and an AppleTV although I may cancel that order / return it and find a used 2022 for a room in the house without one.
Kagi referrals to my blog are actually growing quite a bit. I had 5 Kagi.com referrals this week compared to 75 from Google. My blog is small but it’s wild to see it show up in the referral metrics.
