AppleCare One Family Launched and it says only 7 of our 14 devices can be covered. I can see one exception which is one of our AirPods is over 1 year old but it’s not showing two Apple Watches, one AppleTV, one HomePod or my wife’s M5 MBP.
Biggest surprise / complaint - Apple Watch didn’t get Nano-Texture treatment this year. Every Apple device family has a nano-texture option now except Apple Watch. I hope Ultra 5 and iPhone X2 (20th anniversary) get nano-texture.
It was not a low-spend Apple year though. 16” MacBook Pro M5 Max + 14” MacBook Pro M5 Pro which were huge purchases. Two iPhone 17 Pros last year so no upgrades planned. iPads are both M4 powered and both of us have AirPods Pro 4. Next year will be iPhone upgrades.
Sold my Apple Watch Ultra 2 for $350 after fees. Purchased an Apple Watch Ultra 4 for $800. Solid improvements. Saving my pennies for an Apple TV / Home Hub upgrade this year.

Last year, you could still purchase Hermes leather Apple Watch straps on their website. That appears to have changed this year. No Apple Watch accessories on their site anymore at all, exclusively Apple which means nothing leather, all cloth / metal. :(

I will say, the logic changes for folks that keep their devices longer. BestBuy is capped at 2 years then switches to Apple’s monthly price. If you keep iPads, iPhones, watches for 4 years, this become more compelling but you need a LOT of devices. So at least a 4-person household.
AppleCare One Family = $600 a year. BestBuy Total = $200 a year The first covers every device in your family up to 6 people activated within the last 4 years. Total is every device purchased from BestBuy for 2 years after purchase. New AppleCare is compelling but still too expensive.
