Feeling much better today. Antibiotics are a miracle. Only needed them a few times in my life and well they definitely work. Final day of the PMP class that I’m teaching and back home tonight.

I’m down in Boston teaching a class for 4 days. This is day 2. But I’m in the ER. Lots of pain, had an ultrasound, appears it’s an infection. I’m getting an injection of antibiotics and an oral prescription. Going to be a rough 2 days remaining of teaching.

Teaching a PMP class today. Going great!

Installed 1-step colder spark plugs on our APR tuned stage 1 Volkswagen Tiguan. 55,000 miles and doing the Denso IKH24s gapped at 0.025.

Building permit approved! that was our final step. So glad this is finally coming to an end and we can start actually building.

I’m teaching three classes this month and my day job. Not as big of a deal now that it’s cold but I feel like I really squandered my summer. Need to plan better next year.

It’s officially Fall

King Arthur’s new cookbook for kids is out - www.kingarthurbaking.com/kids

Once a week, I unsubscribe from email senders I don’t want email from. It’s only 2-5 per week so it takes a couple of minutes. This is the best one I’ve ever seen.

Oh hey, my office apps just got new icons.

Appraisal came back. We’re all good! Just need to get that building permit approved and I can officially close on this construction loan and start work.

Building permit filed. Just a few more weeks before this place gets transformed.

Now basically 2 weeks out of the year, I have to close my RSS reader because of affiliate link garbage. I pay for Verge’s RSS feed so why can’t they give me an option to filter out advertisements?

Final maple soft serve of the year.

On this day in 2016, I closed on my first home (the one I’m living in today). Also on this day in 2025, I’m dropping off the building permit application for a $468,000 remodel on the property. No it’s not a tear-down but nearly. Very exciting and I’m so thrilled we get to stay here.

Season coming to an end so thus begins the rotation of sending every car to the detailer for full ceramic coating then oil undercoating before changing over to winter wheels & tires. sigh.

Finished another PMP weekend class as instructor. Time for some relaxation. Talking for 35 hours is hard work.

My kid on the back cover of this month’s BMW Owners News.

!!!! New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services & NH DOT have approved our permits. Once I get the approval from the NH Public Utilities Commission for the 200AMP service upgrade, I can file the town permit then we are ready for construction!!!

Before & After. Just a note though, we’re doing Redi-Rock steps to the road & driveway and it wont' be boulders. Patio will go back to the hill with steps up to the upper hill. Roof will have 32 solar panels on the front and those front windows will be taller and larger and fenced in …

Pretty good.

Asbestos results came back negative. New Hampshire department of environmental services permit by notification has been filed (5 day turnaround) and permit with the town gets filed today. We’re about 4 weeks out from construction starting.

OpenAI’s Blog Style Guide is so weird. Every blog has the same “reads like someone’s resume” verb structure.

“We’ve received the conditional approval for your construction loan for which you recently applied.” !!!!!!!! IT’s happening. now we just need the appraisal to come back high enough to hit the right LTV number.

Nothing more expensive than something you got for cheap. But it’s done and I’m so happy with the results. A new Beta is $12K before accessories, tuning and suspension so still cheaper than doing this to a new bike.
