First dirt ride on the Beta today after 3 months restoring this bike. Amazing ride. I’m so thrilled. $4000 dirt bike but $6000 in parts getting it fully restored and dialed in to my needs.
It has taken 3 days but my iPhone 17 Pro is finally setup. 25,000 songs, all iCloud Photos are downloaded. Still remaining is “faces” identification which in my experience takes weeks. Cellular took a long phone call with Verizon to get service.
This is the most resource intensive weekend for my new iPhone 17 Pro and the back is so cool. It really is amazing. Aluminum + Vapor chamber appears to be working.
This backup is going to take all day.
2025 iPhone Setup - iPhone Pro 1TB, Cosmic Orange with Peak Design Everyday case in Tan Clarino. I was hoping to get the Cirrus Clarino but it’s out of stock. www.peakdesign.com/products/…
According to Apple’s Screen time, I was on my devices 23 hours yesterday. Everything is on iOS26 and by the time I get on the computer at 8AM, I’ve already been active for 4 hours.
Loan originated, general contractor contract signed and we’re well on our way to closing on this refinance and nearly rebuilding our home. Construction should commence in 4 weeks.
If you include the fact that I have iPad Pro and iPad mini, a Max iPhone isn’t necessary for me.
This is my first non-max iPhone since the iPhone XS but iPhones Pro are identical in every way but screen size & battery MaH. It’s a $100 price difference but more weight and more screen than I need. I have ran my iPhone 16 Pro Max at 80% battery max for a year and never ran out of …
$1499 minus $400 in BestBuy reward certificates I had and getting $55 back in rewards for this purchase and my iPhone sold for about $1150 after fees & shipping. Pretty easy upgrade. Oh and of course free AppleCare for 2 years.
I didn’t need a new iPhone so I listed my iPhone 16 Pro Max 1TB on Swappa and someone bought it for way more than I thought it was worth ($1300) so I have ordered a new 1TB non-Max which will be here Friday for an upgrade cost of about $350 year over year after fees & shipping costs.
WalMart really wants to know what I think about this dog food:
I tried to login to Yelp on Saturday. After multiple failed captchas, I gave my iPad to my wife who also failed multiple captchas. It was a mess. Yelp thinks we’re both robots now.
Almost every company doesn’t want my password. They want to text me a code and then ask for my password and then text me another code. This happens dozens of times a day. Most pretend I don’t even have a password and just assume my phone is nearby.
I think I can safely measure the amount of time I spend logging into websites in hours a week now. The deprecation of passwords (because users are stupid and cybersecurity is a huge problem) has made website logins a pain. I don’t use most mobile apps so I’m a browser user and it sucks.
Dirt bike ride today. 38 degrees. Going up into the mountains to find some fall foliage.
iPhone day is like a whole day now. It’s over now. Watch, phone and AirPods are setup. Everything is very evolutionary but it’s all better. The blue iPhone matches the otterbox cactus leather in saddle brown really well. The blue looks purple to me and my wife is thrilled about that.
My wife is replacing an iPhone 15 Pro Max and Apple Watch Series 9 45MM in midnight finish. I’m replacing Lightning AirPods Pro 2. Everything has AppleCare expiring from BestBuy so this resets the 2 year clock.
New iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods day. Two of those are for my wife, the AirPods are for me.
2 hours later, I think we got the skunk scent out of the dog.
I’m glad that Apple is still posting a PDF with all new iOS features - www.apple.com/os/pdf/Al…
Here’s the announcement, “Support for dynamically inserting brand segments that can be swapped in and out, allowing creators to resell slots to another brand in future instead of having a permanent product ad in long-form videos. " Sounds like skippable product features for paying …
A pet peeve of mine for a while is paying for YouTube Premium but having to skip ads that YouTubers put in the video (product placement). YouTube is announcing “brand segments” by creating spots that can be swapped out later if needed. Does this mean I can finally auto skip these?
Apple News+ is a 1st party curated Macintosh (fake) app that should be smart and adaptive as well as put the reader first and eliminate crappy ads and give me AI summaries. It’s just a bad experience.
Screenshots of what I see in Apple News+ which is just articles that are simply garbage headlines. imgur.com/a/c5Ixaeh Also, I’ve blocked certain channels but the app still shows me those stories. Why isn’t that fixed? Blocked = I don’t want to see it.
