but hey, it's Friday! WOOHOO
In other news, I wrote what I believed was a pretty good post yesterday about Persistence of Written Word in Mastodon. The Wordpress app for iPad lost it. So I probably won't write it again but oh well.
There are a few folks I'm following for which I'll have to mute or unfollow. I'm sorry to do this so soon into my Mastodon journey but since 2016, I've specifically chosen to not follow politics except for long-form journalism. I'll read long pieces in Atlantic or New Yorker or …
Lunch was Empanadas. It was delicious. I overdid it and am now stuffed.

First time re-watching #StrangerThings. Heather has never seen it and we just finished season one and she’s really enjoying it. She doesn’t like Sci-Fi so I’m surprised she’s into it. No complaints here!
Inner ear infection. That’s a new one.
Never had what feels like vertigo before. Was trying to be funny and say “feeling dizzy. My delete later” Anyway, used the Withings blood pressure arm band. That’s normal. No fever, had some espresso and chocolate. No change. Shower, did some light exercise. No improvement. Dizzy for 3 hours so I’m …
@ybrammer I heard it’s a moderation decision. Your 20K toots may not fit with a new server’s policy and someone could inport a bunch of old hate speech. Could be technical and “coming soon” as a feature. I’d prefer an instance admin making the choice of what can be imported.
Made some updates to the blog header to link to Mastodon. I removed my newsletter link thanks to the Twitter Owned GetRevue shutting down and I imported all of those Motorcycle newsletters into my Wordpress blog. Shame on me for publishing to someone else's server (GetRevue) …
@ybrammer YEP! I was on another instance for 4 weeks and when I realized that if they decide to shut down, I lose all of my posts, I decided to spin up my own instance. Twitter never promised to host our tweets forever but being at the mercy of someone who is just offering a public service by …
Whoa...followers. Hai! Some of you I know from Twitter back in the day. Nice to see you again.
@jamesbritton I’ll go back eventually. I agree. It seems to get better every single year.
@jamesbritton morning! I was in northern New Hampshire and the EV Hyundai would suffer a 50% drop in range half of the year (cold weather) and no charging infrastructure. With 100 miles range, I felt stuck. Couldn’t even get to Massachusetts on a charge. So I went to a diesel with really good fuel …
@jamesbritton what about owner an EV and went to diesel? I’m probably a tiny minority but that’s my situation.
Fallout 76 update. Happy to confirm none of my in game items were deleted. I was certain one item would have been lost to the #LegacyPurge.
Well, broke my blog (no surprise) but 3 hours later, I did a lot of overdue maintenance and fixed some broken stuff. I have created https://masto.adamchandler.me/@blog which should work to post blog posts and I can occasionally boost the ones that are worth sharing with followers here. I felt it …
Alright, I'm going to try and follow a few people I know. Wish me luck!

First day of having icy roads in Charlotte. Glad I didn’t take the bike.
This is reminding me a lot of old Twitter. So many apps to play with and experience.
There’s a lot of talk about old Twitter apps that are all now dead but not many talking about Hahlo which was my personal favorite for years until Tweetbot - http://dean.co/hahlo-goodbye/
Lazy Sunday. Doing some cleaning around the house, re-organizing and jamming to some tunes.
