The iPad Pro I want with keyboard will cost $2500 before tax. I can get an M3 Pro 14" MacBook Pro with more ram, the same storage and it includes a free keyboard for $2199. It's just so insane now.
This should be a blog post but I've been posting "cost of Apple Fanboyism" annual posts for a while. Basically what's the cost of buying one device in every segment / line Apple has per year and that has creeped up a LOT in the last decade. I think we're reaching a point now …
An update on iPad, every few years I go without for a while to see if I miss iPad. I do already miss it but it’s not because it can't do anything my mac can't do. For the record, I am on the waiting list for a loaded iPad Pro with all of the features but I'm hoping that the 4 week wait …
https://www.macrumors.com/2024/05/21/adobe-lightroom-generative-remove/ Kids aren't going to understand why back in the day you'd cut a photo in half to remove an ex from your photo instead of just selecting the ex and removing them using "common tools” generative remove. "You had …
I have sold my M1 12.9" iPad Pro for $850. Pretty solid return for a $1599 device purchased 3 years ago. That's net to me after fees. I have not decided if I'm going to replace it yet.
I’m going to go drill 2 holes in an aluminum plate and am really anxious about it.
@kolin SAVE THE HATCH!
@gruber "I can’t help but see some incongruity between the performative outrage over Apple’s “Crush” ad last week and the fact that the top-trending tech videos on YouTube today are of people destroying the very same iPads the “Crush” ad was promoting." I'm glad you said this.
Big milestone for my nearly 20 year old YouTube channel. 2025 will be 20 years of uploading videos to the internet.
2 more certs to go before I take a break. 12 months to 10 total (1 not pictured, CSM). Next up, PMI-RMP and PMI-PBA
Swings and air time are her jam.
Alright, more stuff for sale. Already sold one bag for $650. Hoping to raise enough to some nice stuff for the trip.
I inventories all of my camping gear last night. Threw away some things, put other things in a sell pile and was able to create a list of things I need to buy for the upcoming trip (why do I keep losing headlamps?) For sale pile should net me enough to get a new satellite phone.
Tips for running Marathon (1994) as efficiently as possible: “Don’t run background tasks while playing Marathon. This means you should quit open applications before launching Marathon and close open control panels in the finder. Also, make sure your computer isn’t printing.” via - …
@gruber I personally don’t understand why Apple never capitalized on merch. Just sell the stickers, shirts, pens, coffee cups online. I’ve traveled to HQ many times just to grab merch.
@jriga @gruber It's great because now you can say "Nuts Dot Com" whenever you want around anyone and as long as you're holding a bag, it's completely OKAY!
This little one is 6.5 months old. First beach day.
Photos taken of me on my new bike this past weekend in the mountains.
Sold another motorcycle. Second one this year.
$1399 for a 13” MacBook Air M3 + 16GB + 512GB OR $2048 for an iPad Pro with Keyboard and the only advantage is the touch screen and cellular. The iPad Pro I believe is thicker and heavier but I need to look at those numbers. I stuff it into my motorcycle luggage so thickness does matter. Only other …
I guess to my complaining, well Adam there's the iPad Air + Magic Keyboard. True, that's $1250 for a 256GB Air + Keyboard which is on par with the 13" MacBook Air which is an M3 instead of M2 and is again, a full laptop. If iPad OS was more powerful, I'd be okay with a slight …
I was really hoping an iPad Pro 256GB would be the same price as a MacBook Air 256GB with the keyboard. Just super disappointed with Apple's price strategy when the very first iPad was $499 and $129 more for a keyboard. Sigh.
I'm planning a 12,000 mile 6-week trip across America to the Arctic Ocean. I have been trying to think through how I'd stay connected. My iPhone has tethering so I was thinking go MacBook Air which has real Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, Final Cut Pro and full disk access. I really want a new …
Is an iPad Pro w/o cellular, w/o a pencil and with the same RAM and Storage worth $600 more than a MacBook Air? The only difference I see is the display and chip BUT that wasn't a difference yesterday when we had a $500 difference between the M2 iPad Pro.
I was truly hoping with what it costs now to get a MacBook Air that Apple would drop iPad pricing. Lowest cost to get an iPad Pro 13" with keyboard looks like around $1600. I can get a 13" MacBook Air for $999 (today's best buy price). Other than cellular and a touch screen, what is …
