Computer vision is just a camera sensor with on-device processing and reasoning. If you take photos you know cameras don’t do well in low-light, with obstructions and get blocked by snow, ice, rain and mud. There’s a whole generation of Teslas that are worse at ADAS because of this …
There’s a video by Mark Rober who has shown the failings of Tesla ADAS. When I worked in the industry, literally everyone who builds these systems was really scratching their head when Tesla removed LiDAR and Radar systems and decided to rely exclusively on Computer Vision / Machine Learning.
New Opportunities
Navigating a few new opportunities at the moment. I just wish these would hurry up because once Summer starts, it’ll be more difficult to start new. By 3/31, I’ll hear if I’ve made it through the election committee for a candidacy on the Board of Directors for PMI Last year 87 …
I think this will be first motorcycle ride of the year today. High of 55 and two days of rain means no salt on the road.
My Reddit is full of small niche communities and I disable videos, GIFs, Emotes and run compact view. There are design choices we can make that make social networks less sticky. I also subscribe to reddits in my RSS feed so I never have to visit and doom-scroll.

Great Quote from Steve Jobs, “when I think of of the most valuable things in my life, and I think of my family” www.youtube.com/watch 9:05 I think that’s a good one to leave on Friday and start my weekend with family.
President Trump doesn’t care about much but he cares deeply what the banks, markets, capitalists, multi-billionaires think and they’re not happy at the moment. I don’t see him holding some of these policies much longer.
I’ve been thinking the past few days about the stock market and my assumption is we’re going to see some serious lip-service from President Trump soon as the White House switch board lights up from the capitalists who are deeply unhappy with how his politics are hurting their wallets.
Friday.
I bought Bright Eyes Tickets in Asheville last year for my friend Ben and I to go. I then moved to NH and gave them both to him and bought tickets to the Boston show next month. He FaceTimed me from the show tonight for a few minutes and it was so nice.
Finally got around to adding a rack and luggage to the travel-dirt-bike.

Annual Maintenance on the Husqvarna 701 Enduro LR + Installing a Rack + Bags for Summer camping.
3 Days Countdown to my 5K on Saturday. Today was my final big run and I did 2.7 miles…longest run I’ve ever done. So I know I can at least do that and ran out of time or could have done more. No more running until Saturday. Just going to do rowing and strength training with Yoga.
Nearly 150,000 photos are backed up to Prime Photos. So I have iCloud (6TB), Synology (on-prem) and now Amazon. Good redundancy for 30 years of images.
Town news, I voted yes on everything - www.enfield.nh.us/administr… 60%+ of my property taxes go to the school. I’ve never voted down an increase to school budgets even without a child. I think schools create culture, curb crime and connect us
In yoga this morning, the instructor mentioned all of the craziness going on right now and IDK, maybe? I arrived to Yoga pretty damn happy. I got paid Friday, My car started, coffee was tasty. I read position statements for my town’s candidates and then went to the library and voted.
I’ve been doing that since 2011 or so and hearing about things that happen after they happen is okay. breaking news, scrolling and alerts rot your brain. It’s a big world, I don’t need to follow everything. I open RSS & Micro.blog twice a day and that’s it.
RE: www.wordsfromeliza.com/p/how-muc… via Kottke, IDK man, I’ve been “offline” for decades and it’s doing me just fine. I read 70 RSS feeds and they’re all about hobbies I care about. I vote every election (voted today actually) and don’t read “the …
