Adam Chandler's Micro Blog

Last surgery that I know about is today. This one is pretty easy. Just gotta be off the feet for a day and not lift anything heavy for a few days. It's been a wild last 10 months starting with shoulder then ankle, then Invisalign, lasik and now this.

@lakelady I just have a thin wallet so the app was working just fine until recently.

Yesterday, I was trying to get into Costco and had to show my Member card on my app and the greeter had to wait for my app to stop showing me an ad so I could present my digital card. Seems member-hostile to make me wait when I'm literally at Costco doing shopping.

Here are a few examples…

this needs to be a blog post but anyone notice how all of these retailers now are putting up splash pages before they let you shop? Amazon, WalMart, BestBuy and Costco have done it to me in the last month. I am opening your app to purchase something and you present a 5-second long advertisement for …

Looks like we have 15 Apple devices with AppleCare for 2 years for free through BestBuy Total. They all have differing monthly rates but BestBuy calculates it at about $400 per year in AppleCare for my $179. that's before any other benefits like discounts, free delivery, extended returns. …

Although, in my defense I haven't purchased AppleCare in years. I just use Bestbuy's TotalTech to get free applecare on all devices including gifts I buy for friends and my wife. I'm getting my money worth and BestBuy hasn't caught on, kyet.

That’s a lot of AppleCare.

The good thing about this set up is you can actually haul things across the motorcycle like a super long chair or large pieces of wood and then strap them down on top of each box without scratching the boxes. I also put dry bags full of dirty laundry on the outside of the boxes on trips.

The @jesseluggage carrier / lid racks are going on. They really tie the room together.

Sounds like a case of the Mondays.

Speaking of, all of this practice has REALLY been paying off. I started practicing about 3 months ago and while I'm still very slow, this accuracy has me blown away

Never thought I'd ever be creating an account here.

Stop the bleed and trauma first aid class today.

I really need a better motorcycle lift setup.

If I can't get work done on it, I'm returning it. I watch 100% of video on my big screen television usually with my wife. We don't watch TV or movies on anything smaller than 75 inches. That includes YouTube. Even in 2005-2010 when YouTube was new and I didn't have an AppleTV, …

Om Malik said so well what I've been feeling: “But the thing is you actually have to be mobile-native to actually appreciate something like this. So if you’ve grown up watching a 75-inch screen television, you probably would not really appreciate it as much. But if you are like me who’s been …

 Vision Pro Ordered. Luckily I live next to an Apple Store now but the first 3 pickup windows I picked were taken out from under me so I'll get to experience it later in the day.

How long after 8AM EST will  Vision Pro sell out of launch day inventory?

Also, this is now how you lift a motorcycle.

It’s Thursday but man am I ready for the weekend. So much to do but 90% of my waking hours are working or holding a baby. This weekend: 1. Range time 2. Finish installing suspension on the BMW 3. Rotate RAM tires 4. Cut some aluminum….long story 5. Clean house 6. Edit 7 videos in the backlog 7. …

@Rycaut I am newly hired (13 months) at my current role and the process involved 8 months of applications, roughly 1100 of them and that funnel was 30 hiring screens where either I or the talent person determined it wasn't the role for me and 20 manager screenings then 15 full interview loops …

@Rycaut People I speak to have said Indeed has helped them get interviews more efficiently and most successful candidates are just using old fashioned networking for jobs like getting a referral. On the hiring side, I don't trust application screening software so I read through all 1000 …

Interesting, clicking “learn more” takes me to a KBase page that doesn’t resolve. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT212510
