In Richmond VA for the BMW MOA National Rally. 5,000 people from all over the country, 5 days of events. As secretary of the board, I’ll be busy pretty much every hour from 11-9PM every day until Sunday. Looking forward to seeing a lot of old friends.
@kolin I’m actually looking for a new sling / messenger that only fits iPad Pro 13 + Leica Q2 + a power adapter and AirPods Max. Most are too large and a lot are folio-esque and too small.
@mjtsai You would think there’d be a user story for this scenario somewhere and it’d be prioritized. Seems poorly executed.
Photos from Las Vegas are on my Blog (https://adamchandler.me/blog/2023/06/06/travel-las-vegas-babymoon-2023/) & Flickr (https://www.flickr.com/photos/adamjackson/albums/72177720308883009)
VERY excited. My 4th National BMW Motorcycle Rally starts tomorrow. It's also my last day as secretary on our board of directors as I'll be taking up a new role. 6 hour ride to Richmond, the closest MOA rally I've been to since joining the board in 2019. Looking forward to hanging out …
With DPReiew going away, I decided to subscribe to their competitor’s (PetaPixel) RSS feed. I think DP Review failed because they never played the game of competing with Insider/Sun/Interceptor/HuffPo/Forbes of having an article for EVERY trending event. PetaPixel does and there's more garbage …
@stammy AirPods Max will be overdue for a refresh next year. I expect design considerations for this. I use AirPods Max bout 4x more than my AirPods Pro. Airpods Pro now are to grab a quick phone call at the office. AirPods Max are for everything else. The sound quality is night and day.
I believe in my one day test of the Model Y that the majority of folks purchasing Model 3/Y vehicles are coming from Japanese or American brands and feel paying a $10K premium over a similar Honda/Toyota/Ford for the Tesla name + EV functions IS worth it and theyre happy overall but if your daily is …
Final issue with Model Y was the ADAS features it did have (not FSD just basic AutoPilot) were HUGE issues. On interstate to hoover damn, no cars around us, couldn't keep a lane, couldn't maintain speed and at one point the Model Y panic braked from 80 to 15 miles per hour as we went over a …
Toot-Fitting Tesla Model Y thoughts: 1. High road noise 2. Very shitty suspension 3. Not fast, the instant torque peters out pretty quickly. My golf R was MUCH faster 4. Cheap interior 5. High learning curve on simple stuff like locking, starting, stopping, changing AC temp, determining range 6. …
I spent one day with a Tesla Model Y (DM+LR) from Hertz in Las Vegas. I leased a Hyundai Ioniq for 2 years and was glad to be rid of it. I can confirm I feel the same way about this Tesla. It checked none of the boxes I expected a Tesla to check that the Hyundai did not. More in a planned blog post …
Saw Beetles Love @ Mirage for the 4th time. A lot of the show has changed since I went 12 years ago. Still a banger. Used my ‘ol hack which is walk up to box office 5 minutes before the show starts and haggle. Front row seats for $49 instead of $180 list. Great time!
Landing in Vegas.
@gene I've watched all of the videos. Growing up in Birmingham Alabama but also having lived in Oakland, Boston and now Charlotte and been to New Orleans and Seattle, it was really cool to see those cities from the train window. It was a lot of time to create all of this but I appreciate you …
Vegas tonight.
I'm an Apollo for iPad user and pay for the highest tier to compensate the developer for their time. I also pay Reddit for their premium service to compensate them for their time and so I don't see any ads. Why can't Reddit just require Apollo only work with users who are paying for …
Hey, everyone keep me honest here. Me in January on Apple's headset, “If the headset ends up being over $2,000, I’ll wait for the 3rd generation. If the headset is $999, I’ll buy the 2nd generation.” https://adamchandler.me/blog/2023/01/03/technology-i-wont-buy-the-first-apple-headset/

@marioguzman @geoffoliver This is a very ingrained behavior for me is moving windows around that aren't focus. This and 'screen zoom' are used constantly. I have command + 2 finger up / down to zoom in and out enabled and I use it all of the time to focus in on a text box.
Thursday, we're off to Vegas. Next Thursday, motorcycle rally in Richmond. Week after, pack and get ready for a month up in New Hampshire.
Back in the office after a long weekend. Honestly, I slept...that's it. I slept ALL weekend. I took a 5PM nap on Friday, then slept until 2PM on Saturday, Took a saturday afternoon nap then slept until noon on Sunday. Yesterday, up at 8Am and went to the water park, did a 3 mile walk, went out …
